One of the questions I get asked all the time is: "How long do microgreens last in the fridge?"
The truth is, microgreens can last up to two weeks when stored properly. But here's the thing: their peak freshness. that crisp bite, vibrant color, and burst of flavor is in the first week. Click here for storage tips.
So instead of tucking them away in the fridge like a special-occasion treat, let's flip the script: use them on everything, every day, from breakfast to dinner.
Breakfast: Wake Up Your Plate
Start the day strong by scattering microgreens where you wouldn't expect them:
Over scrambled eggs or tucked inside an omelet
Blended into a smoothie for an extra nutrient kick
Sprinkled on avocado toast
Layered into a breakfast burrito or quesadilla
Lunch: Light, Fresh, Flavorful
Midday meals are the perfect time to keep it crisp:
Use microgreens as the base of a quick salad (no lettuce required)
Top soups or chili for a bright finish
Layer into sandwiches, wraps, or paninis
Mix into pasta salad, grain bowls, or left-overs
Dinner: A Flavor Boost That Looks Fancy

Dinner is where microgreens turn an ordinary plate into something chef-worthy:
Toss them into stir-fries right before serving
Use them as a fresh topping on pizza or flatbread
Sprinkle them over roasted veggies, potatoes, or baked salmon
Garnish creamy pastas or risottos for color and bite
Add a small handful to tacos, burgers, or even mac & cheese
Microgreens aren't something to save-they're something to savor. Use them generously, every day, and let your meals come alive. Trust me: once you start tossing microgreens on everything, you'll never want to hide them in the fridge again.
Storage Tips for Microgreens
keep them in their original container or better yet, use our stainless steel containers - they last a really long time in those
the container gets 'sweaty' as it goes from fridge to warm air
if you notice it getting 'sweaty' inside, wipe with a paper towel to dry the lid or container
don't store where the cold air comes out, it has a greater risk of freezing, which will kill the microgreens
store in the crisper, door, or where they won't get too cold
to sum up, keep them dry, chilled, not too cold/warm
